Yellow and red in texture, the Gala apple has quickly become one of the more popular apples grown in Washington.

Originally from New Zealand, the Gala apple was developed by orchardist J.H. Kidd in the 1920s by crossing a Golden Delicious with a Kidd’s Orange Red apple.
