Developed at the Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station’s Horticultural Research Center in Minnesota – the Honeycrisp was once slated to be discarded as an experimental apple but after its release in 1991, it has become very popular. Its sweetness, firmness and tartness that makes it ideal for raw eating. It also has a very long shelf life.
